I'm Oksana. 14 years ago, I was born on a snowy December morning back in

Lviv, Ukraine. I came to Canada when I was 5, and I currently live in Ontario.

I love all of the arts: literature (reading and writing); drama (old movies, especially those starring Audrey Hepburn); music (many genres, mostly easy-listening); dance; and visual art (photography, pencil drawing, watercolor, graphic art, and collage). My other various hobbies and interests include: things to do with nature, geography and foreign languages, daydreaming, theology, praying, communicating with people, wheel pottery, chatting with my friends, philosophy, animals, little kids, flowers, birds, (this list is getting way too long!).. writing people notes and emails, remembering things, baking, watching sunsets, listening to music, and learning about my religion & savior Jesus.

Being the old-fashioned person that I am, I dislike much of what's popular nowadays: hollywood, mainstream music, politics, gossip, fashion, cars, shopping, etc. I know most of these things ARE necessary to some extent... I just find it so sad when people fight over them or let them take over their lives. Other than that, I'm not sure... I regard math with great antipathy. :) Hate is a strong word... I hate hatred.

I want to work in communication, theology, and/or social services when I grow up. I want to work for a cause I believe in... I'll probably be a communications specialist for a charity. Other than that, I'd like to learn Italian, travel to Italy, the UK, and through Asia, own a cat, have a garden, adopt kids from abusive families/impoverished countries, learn to play at least one musical instrument, own a cat, learn to skate, sing in public, own a cat, and then own another cat just for good measure! :)

4. I love the taste of pickle juice, prunes, spinach, and brocolli.
5. I believed in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy until 11, when I realized their handwriting was suspiciously similar to my mom's.
6. It's hard for me to eat when I'm not reading a book.

8. I started writing poetry at age 4.

10. I have somewhere around 10 email addresses... don't use most of them, though!
11. I've been listening to classical music since fourth grade.
12. Few are skilled enough to read my handwriting!

14. My greatest talent is my ability to find a purpose in things that happen.
15. I love singing.
16. I have never had stitches or broken bones.
17. I speak almost exclusively Ukrainian at home, but I think in English.
18. I'm afraid of fear.
19. I'm trying to break my Internet addiction. (Flickr isn't helping!)
20. I became a Christian when I was 13.
